The Presidential Cycling tour is the biggest cycling race in Turkey. The race is around 1300 km long and has an eight-stage route, which changes each time, but it largely runs along the south-western coast and starts in Alanya, passes through İzmir and finishes in İstanbul.
It is the most important cycling event in the Black Sea area and the Middle East. It is the only cycling tour that runs between two continents and offers one of the very few possibilities to traverse Istanbul’s Bosphorus Bridge on a bike.
The president of Turkey attends every year either at the start or the end of the race. It usually happens between the end of April and the beginning of May.
