The origin of the word 'Gravure' is French.Gravure is a printing technique and it is used for typography.It also refer to scrape.The art of Gravure started to be seen in 17th and 18th century around the world with developed colorful woodcut.Gravure artists who come to Ottoman territories and portray the riches of east, they present the magnificent details to us from that times.For example; Antonie-Ignace Melling bring the past into present Istanbul from Ottoman Period with his most ostentatious and detailed gravure works and texts.
