The goal of the museum is to present, protect, and evaluate the country’s modern and contemporary art. Its goal to reach a wide segment of the population in dynamic, multi-vaiced atmosphere.

It is also first private museum to organize modern and contemporary art exhibitions. Modern Art Museum of Istanbul was founded in 2004 and occupies an 8,000 square meter site on the shore of the Bosphorus.

Efforts of Eczacibasi family
Modern Art Museum of Istanbul is located on the historical peninsula of the Bosphorus. It is on the docks of the oldest settlement area of the Bosphorus, in the Turkish Maritime Line warehouse. Through the efforts of Eczacibasi family, it was turned into a museum. The Museum has a permanent collection, a temporary display gallery, a photography gallery, a sculpture garden, media area, a library, a movie salon, a cafe.

The photograpy section organize to open three exhibitions a year, some Works of the Turkish photography will be exhibited abroad through th efforts and connections of the curator.
