“Only average” Stayed 2 nights in late may in a single room. Hotel is well located and clean however my room was very small and poorly located near a noisy air conditioning vent with a window looking onto only a small enclosed space. Breakfast ok but only average and staff ok but not that friendly. The hotel was ok but I didn't enjoy it as much as other reviewers- maybe other rooms are better. Overall i have stayed in better hotels in Istanbul that gave cost less.

“Great customer service!” Balin Hotel is in a great location as it's in Istanbul's old city area which is close to the Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, and Aya Sofia. For the price it's a great deal and the staff are very friendly. I stayed there during my birthday and upon checkout the staff surprised me with a birthday cake which was shared with the rest of the guests. Great touch as they provided it no charge and it was a lovely surprise upon checkout! Would definitely recommend this to anyone else travelling to Istanbul (especially on your birthday!)

“Really impressed” I have just come back from Istambul this week. The hotel impressed us (i was with my wife) due to the following reasons:they clean your room daily; breakfast is good;it is very close to Grand Bazaar and all other important historical places;is new;personnel is very keen to help you (even if some of them do not speak English very weel -exceptions are Nil and the lady from the reception who are very good English speakers). Minuses:the dressroom which is small and the TV shows on cable TV (there is only 1 english language channel -BBC). Tips:do not buy cruises from the agencies, they are far more cheaper if you go by yourself ( I don not speak here about 2-3 days trips to Troia or others).

“Balin hotel in Istanbul is fantastic!” I stayed in Balin hotel for three days and everything was absolutely perfect. It is very close to the Sultanhamet area. The Gran Bazaar is just 50 metres from the hotel. The Sales Manager and the staff are very cordial and willing to help you 24 hours a day. Furthermore, the hotel is new and very clean. Breakfast is excellent! I recommend this hotel to both people who are travelling by themselves and to families or groups of travellers. Don't waist your time trying to find the right hotel when you're in Istanbul. Just book at Balin. It's worth it! Nellina I. from Sicily
