Cicek Pasaji

Çiçek Pasajı,  originally called as the Cité de Péra, is a famous historic  passage  on Istiklal Avenue in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul, Turkey. The passage is now known as the Çiçek Pasajı (Flower Passage).

Opened in 1876, Çiçek Pasajı is a covered  passage  with rows of historic cafes, winehouses, restaurants and meyhanes (taverns).

The site of Çiçek Pasajı was originally occupied by the Naum Theatre. The theatre was frequently visited by Ottoman Sultans .

Then during the 1940s the building was mostly occupied by flower shops that gives the passage its  present Turkish name Çiçek Pasajı (Flower Passage).

After the major restoration of the building in 1988, it was reopened as a galleria of pubs and restaurants.

The most recent restoration was made in December 2005. The Flower Passage is still one of the most stylish buildings of Beyoğlu.

Now it is serving those who like raki, fish and side dishes .Most places have gypsy musicians that will come around playing music.

Enter it and look around, feel the atmosphere of the passed times and relax...

“ Make a visit to the past and enjoy your meal. ”
