Light rail metro system in Istanbul is approached three different points. These points are the line of Aksaray-Ataturk Airport, Taksim and the second line is 4. Levent and the last one is the line of Kadikoy- Kartal in Anatolian side.

The Line of Aksaray-Ataturk Airport
This line is for tourists intensively. It put into service in 1989. It moves 220 thousand of people in a day.

Metro gave service between Aksaray and Kartaltepe in first phase. Then it started to go Esenler. In 1994 it began to go Coach Station. Metro increased its potential with opening the stations of Terazidere, Davutpasa, Merter, Zeytinburnu and Bakırkoy.

Lastly in 2002, the station of World Trading Center and Airport were opened.

There are total 18 stations in the route of Aksaray-Airport. And there are closed sitting areas in every station. Also there are 28 escalators in 9 stations and 7 elevators in 4 stations. Besides custom-made whell-chair which provides go down the stairs in Aksaray Station. All stations is watched by camera system (CCTV).

Aksaray, Emniyet, Ulubatlı, Bayrampasa, Sagmalcılar, Kocatepe, Coach Station, Esenler, Terazidere, Davutpasa, Merter, Zeytinburnu, Bakırkoy-İncirli, Bahcelievler, Atakoy-Sirinevler, Yenibosna, DTM - Istanbul Exhibition Centre, Atatürk Airport.

The Line of Kartal—Kadıkoy
The building of this line started in 1992. Approximately its length is 28km and it has 16 stations. There are Maltepe and Rest Home Stations. This line is in underground completely inclusive its backshop.

Ayrılık Çeşme – Marmaray Line
Ünalan Station – Metrobus Line.
