ATU is a Duty Free operator in Turkey, it was established in 1999. There are 2 Duty Free Stores that function in Istanbul now: one is in the Ataturk Airport on the European Side, the other one is in the Sabiha Gokcen Airport in the Anatolian side of Istanbul.

Operation area of the Ataturk’s airport is almost 7000 square meters and about 4000 square meters in the second airport.

In the huge stores you can buy local and foreign alcohol drinks, cosmetics, tobacco, perfume, chocolate, jewelry, souvenirs, Turkish delights, etc. There are such world-class brands that are represented there as Calvin Klein, Bvlgari, Lacoste, Dior, Clinique, Gucci, Emporio Armani, Swarowski and others.

There is a huge range of products, a large selection of perfume and skin-care products and a big choice of alcohol. You can benefit from buying items with a promotional price, and buying 3 similar items will save your money.

But prices in Istanbul’s Duty free are higher than in European ones so if you plan to shop for traditional Turkish products like sweets, teas or hamam sets then better do it in Sultanahmet or Taksim areas. The prices are euro and if you want to pay Turkish liras or dollars remember that the exchange rate is very high.
